Privacy Policy

1. Who handles your data

BeginDress (the "Service") is run by BeginEmpty (萬空工作室, "we" or "us").

2. What data we collect

What Google gives us when you sign in

• Your email address, display name and the address of your profile picture.
• We never receive your Google password.

What you upload or make

• Person photos: the photos you try clothes on, which show your face and body.
• Photos of pieces and accessories: tops, bottoms, shoes and accessories.
• Pictures of your own that you upload to edit.
• Generated and edited results: try-on results, new poses and occasions, cut-outs, erased pictures, AI stickers, and the edits you save.
• The names you give your records.

What using the Service produces

• When you agreed to the Terms of Service and this policy, and which versions.
• The confirmations you tick when uploading a person photo (that it is of you, and that you are 18 or older), and when you ticked them.
• The time, kind, success or failure, and AI quota used of every generation.
• Your plan, subscription status and payment records. Payments are handled by a payment provider; we never receive or keep your full card number. 【Payments are not live yet; add the provider's name at launch】
• What is needed to keep you signed in (a sign-in credential kept in your browser).
• Website statistics: which pages were viewed how often, where visitors came from, and what kind of device. These statistics use no cookies and are not used to identify anyone.

We never ask for your national ID number, address or phone number.

3. What we do with it

• Generate the try-on and editing results you ask for.
• Keep your records in your account, so you can look at, edit and download them again later.
• Count AI quota and storage, and handle subscriptions and payments.
• Reply to your messages and handle your requests.
• Prevent abuse, for example by stopping photos that break the content rules.
• Understand how the website is used as a whole, to improve the Service. This uses only statistics that identify no one.

What we do not do:

• Use your photos or generated results to train AI models.
• Sell or rent your data to anyone.
• Use your photos in advertising or as examples on the website, unless you give separate written consent.
• Show you advertising that tracks you.

4. Which providers see your data

To provide the Service, the providers below process data for us. They may only process it on our instructions, not for their own purposes.

• Google (Google Cloud Vertex AI)

  What it does: Generates try-on results, cut-outs, erased pictures and AI stickers

  Data it processes: The photos and text description of that one generation

• Google (Google sign-in)

  What it does: Confirms who you are

  Data it processes: The sign-in

• Supabase

  What it does: Database, file storage, sign-in state

  Data it processes: Account data, photos, results, records

• Vercel

  What it does: Website hosting, website statistics

  Data it processes: Website connections, statistics that identify no one

• 【Payment provider, to add at launch】

  What it does: Takes payments

  Data it processes: Payment data

Under the Google Cloud terms of service, content sent to Vertex AI is not used by Google to train its models. 【Check against the Google Cloud terms in force at launch】

Apart from these providers, we give out your data only when the law, an authority or a court lawfully requires it; when it is necessary to protect your or someone else's life, body or property; or when you separately agree.

5. Where the data is kept

The providers above have their data centres in countries or regions outside Taiwan (for example the United States and 【the region of the Supabase project】). By using the Service you understand that your data is sent to these places to be kept and processed.

6. How long we keep it

• Account data, the photos you upload, and generated and edited results: until you delete them, or your account is deleted.
• Uploaded pictures that were not saved (uploaded on Edit a picture and left without pressing Save): expire after 24 hours at the latest and are not kept.
• After an account is deleted: we remove its account data, photos and results from our systems within 30 days.
• Transaction and payment records: kept for the years that tax and accounting law require, then deleted.
• Statistics that identify no one: may be kept indefinitely.

7. What you can manage and delete

What you can do yourself

• Delete a try-on record on My try-ons; its result pictures are removed from storage with it.
• Delete a saved picture on My pictures.

What you can ask for by email

• Deleting the person photos and photos of pieces you uploaded.
• Deleting your whole account and everything in it.
• Receiving a copy of your data.

Write to welsen@begindress.com from the email address you sign in with; we handle it and reply within 30 days. If the account still has a subscription, please cancel it before asking for deletion.

8. Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act of the Republic of China (Taiwan), you may, regarding your personal data, ask us:

1. To let you query or look at it.
2. To give you a copy.
3. To add to or correct it.
4. To stop collecting, processing or using it.
5. To delete it.

How to do so is in the previous section. To confirm it is you, we may ask you to write from the email address you sign in with.

You may choose not to give some data, but without a person photo no try-on can be generated, and without signing in no record can be kept.

9. The people in the photos

• A person photo must be of yourself, and you must be 18 or older. Please do not upload photos of other people.
• When a photo of a piece shows a model wearing it, we use it only to recognise the piece, and do nothing else with the model's face or body.
• If you find that someone uploaded a photo of you without your consent, write to us and we will deal with it.

10. Minors

The Service is only for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18; if we find such data, we delete it.

11. How we protect the data

• The website uses an encrypted connection throughout.
• Your photos and results are kept in private storage that only someone signed in to your account can reach.
• Internally, only the people who need access to run the Service have it.

No system can guarantee absolute security. If personal data leaks, we notify the users affected as soon as possible after finding out, as the law requires.

12. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For a material change (for example a change in what the data is used for, or a new kind of provider that sees the data), we announce it on the website or notify you by email.

This policy is written in Traditional Chinese; this English text is a translation for convenience. Where the two differ, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.
